One effect of hard water is that soaps and detergents lose some effectiveness. Instead of dissolving completely, soap combines with the minerals to form a coagulated soap curd. Because less soap is dissolved, more is required. And the sticky insoluble curd hangs around--it clings to the skin and may actually inhibit cleansing. Washed hair seems dull and lifeless.
In the laundry, things aren't much better. The soap curd can work its way into your clothes as they're being washed in your automatic washing machine. This can keep dirt trapped in the fibers, and it can stiffen and roughen the fabric.
In addition to affecting the actual washing process, insoluble soap deposits leave spots on everything you wash--from your dishes to the family car--and a soap film will build up in your bath and shower.
Another reason to be concerned about hard water is its effect on your plumbing system. Calcium and magnesium deposits can build up in pipes, reducing flow to taps and appliances. In water heaters, these minerals generate a scale buildup that reduces the efficiency and life of the heater.
What is Catalytic/Magnetic Technology?
Catalytic/Magnetic technology is an alternative method
(compared to water softening) for treating hard water without
the use of salt/potassium or chemicals. This system requires
no maintenance and adds nothing to your water. It prevents
hard water scale in your pipes, hot water heater, plumbing
fixtures and helps to prevent soap curd and lime scum. This
process is achieved by passing water through a spring-loaded
chamber, which creates a small pressure drop. This pressure
drop initiates the formation of calcium hardness crystals. The
calcium hardness crystals then pass through a catalytic
surface, which greatly multiplies the number of crystals. It
is the last two steps (pressure drop & catalytic surface)
that set the patented process apart from similar products.
Then the multitude of calcium crystals pass through a strong
magnetic field, which serves to hold the crystals in
suspension for approximately 24 to 72 hours. The final result
is that the calcium is rendered harmless to your plumbing
fixtures and all the surfaces that come in contact with the
water. Household cleaning is reduced to periodically wiping
any residual spotting with a damp cloth and perhaps a small
amount of vinegar (if needed). Abrasives and "elbow
grease" that are normally required to clean spotted
surfaces caused by hard water is eliminated. The surface
tension of the water is also reduced which results in a
superior water absorption into the human cells and plant
roots.
