Consider Using Tankless Electric Water
Heater
Options At Home
|
You Can Afford The Comfort! As
energy supplies tighten and fuel costs increase, tankless electric water heaters
are gaining much attention across the United States. In the storage tank types, energy is required to heat the
liquid in the tank and to keep
it at a steady temperature to be ready to use on demand. In both types,
the basic efficiencies of heating are very similar; in fact, the
energy consumptions are very similar. |

In the tankless type, however,
no energy is consumed in overcoming the standby losses encountered in a
storage type tank. Just think about this a moment. The average
household contains 2 adults and 2 children. All of these people are gone
from their residence approximately 9 hours per day. They also spend 6 to 8
hours per day sleeping. That is a minimum of 15 hours out of 24 where no
one needs water. Yet, in a storage type tank, h2o is being heated on
a regular basis to maintain it at a preset temperature. This is a
huge waste of energy over a one year period. Saving
money and still having what you need, when you need it anytime, day or night. What
more could you ask for?
The earliest method of heating water
for cooking and washing was over an open fire or by heating rocks in a hot
fire and dropping them into a container to draw off the heat into the
liquid contents. Not very efficient, effective or convenient for today's
living. Fortunately today, we utilize much easier
applications. Gas and electric tankless water heaters are the most
popular in use today and are quickly becoming the wave of the future. Many
people install them in new construction while others use them in retro-fit
situations. Whole house units are designed for washing clothes, showers,
dish washing and other high demand situations. Others use the conventional
tank type applications with the point-of-use option for just one
application, such as extra large bath tubs, etc. What are
the advantages?
-
No pilot light to continuously burn fuel when not in
demand.
-
Units are compact and fit also anywhere. Great for
apartments and RVs too.
-
No heating and reheating and wasting full when no
demand is being made.
-
Most have seismic proof construction. Since there is
no tank, most seismic codes do not apply.
-
No need for extra valves for drains, mixing or
pressure relief. A very simple, straight forward design.
-
Easy to install.
-
Scalding possibilities are considerably reduced or
eliminated with electronic control systems.
Catch the wave of the future. Save space, time, money and
energy. And get what you want, when you want it!
