Gardening Tips For The Beginner If
you are like me, you feel you might like to grow a garden but all of these
different types of nutrients and buffers are confusing. Well, don't get
discouraged. Last year I started out small and did a lot of experimenting.
I would like to share with you what I found out. Growing
House Plants For seedlings of
all varieties, African Violets and Orchids:
Dissolve 1/2 tsp of Flora Nova
Grow in one gallon of water. I use a one gallon water jug and replace
the cap so I can shake the mixture up to ensure it is completely
dissolved. Use this mixture to water your plants as you normally would. Once
per month, spray the stalks and leaves with Chi
to help your plants absorb the nutrients better. You can
also try adding 1/2 tsp of Rare
Earth into the mixture to help enhance your plants and ensure growth. For
mature, flowering plants as well as African Violets:
Dissolve 1/2 tsp of Flora Nova
Grow and 1/2 tsp of Flora
Nova Bloom into one gallon of water. Make sure mixture is completely
dissolved and water as you normally would. The Flora
Nova Bloom encourages beautiful flowering growth and they seem to last
longer as well. If your African Violets are young plants, I would wait
until they are about 90 days old or older before adding the Flora Nova
Bloom. This gives your young plant time to establish a strong root system
before putting energy into flowering. Growing Vegetables Outside
If you are planting from seed:
My first suggestion is that you purchase a bag of Rapid
Rooters. Start your seeds indoors as you normally would, but plant the
seeds in the Rapid Rooters
instead of dirt or potting soil. These little plugs are fantastic and I
got much better result using them to start my seedlings. The root
system develops in the rapid rooter, and then you can transplant the plant
along with the Rapid Rooter
and help protect the tender roots and bottom of the stalk. Just support
the stalk gently, pick up the Rapid
Rooter and transplant into the new spot for your plants to grow strong
and healthy. For seeds and young
seedlings:
Dissolve 1/2 tsp of Floralicious
Grow and 1/2 tsp of Rare
Earth in one gallon of water. I use a one gallon water jug and replace
the cap so I can shake the mixture up to ensure it is completely
dissolved. Use this mixture to water. Continue to use the mixture (at
least once per week) until you plant your seedlings into the ground or
permanent space in your home greenhouse. Once your
seedlings are 30 days old, spray the stalks and leaves with Chi
to help your plants absorb the nutrients better and for stronger,
healthier stalks. This is especially important when growing tomatoes. When
growing tomatoes from seeds:
Use the same mixture as indicated above. After the plant is 45 days old,
add one 1/2 tsp of FloraMato, dissolved into the one gallon mixture. For
mature vegetable plants:
Once your plants are 60 days or older, they should be planted in their
permanent home, if not already done so. Make sure to transplant
carefully. Water with clear water gently. Do not feed for at lease one
week after transplanting. This will give your plants time to adjust to
their new home. Use the mixture mentioned above one more time. On
the second week, increase the Floralicious
Grow to 1 tsp and add add 1 tsp of Floralicious
Bloom to the mixture, as well as the 1/2 tsp of Rare
Earth to one gallon of water and make sure everything is well
dissolved. Use this mixture to water once per week. Supplemental watering
should be done with clear water. ONCE PER MONTH: You
should use Flora Shield to
protect all of your plants from fungus and bacterial attack.
